Software Engineer - Java/Kotlin / Middle+

Location: Worldwide; remote work or work from one of the offices. Relocation support is available to Serbia, Cyprus, Georgia, or Kazakhstan with full visa and permit support for the employee and family.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Kotlin-based backend services for the Identity or Communication Platform teams.
• Work with OAuth2 flows and the AWS infrastructure supporting authorization services.
• Develop integrations and features for internal consumer teams.
• Clarify requirements with stakeholders and design appropriate technical solutions.
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations to maintain infrastructure reliability.
• Launch new platform initiatives from the ground up and optimize existing systems for performance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar software engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Java or Kotlin; current development uses Kotlin.
• Experience with Micronaut, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka, or with Spring and its ecosystem.
• Ability to analyze ambiguous problems, clarify requirements, and design solutions independently.
• Experience with platform teams or critical high-load products is strongly valued.
• English at B1 level or higher is required for communication with the international team.

Nice to have

• Experience leading a substantial refactor or identifying architectural issues early.
• Experience designing systems under significant uncertainty.
• Interest in working with Go in the future.
