Director, Cybersecurity (AI)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $158,000–$217,000 per year, plus short-term incentive, long-term equity, and a one-time new-hire stock option grant.

What you will do

• Own and evolve a risk-based, data-driven cybersecurity strategy and roadmap aligned with business priorities.
• Direct the evaluation, tuning, and optimization of security technologies and controls, including AI-powered tools.
• Lead information security risk assessments, risk management, policy application, and governance across projects, systems, services, and contracts.
• Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and AI-related risks, recommending proportionate mitigation strategies to leadership.
• Partner with business, IT, Engineering, and senior leadership to reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and identify business value from security capabilities.
• Provide regular cybersecurity program reporting and assurance to the Board.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience across information security, risk management, and IT.
• Experience operating and maturing an established cybersecurity function through metrics-driven continuous improvement.
• Experience evaluating and securing AI/ML systems and applications, including AI-specific risk considerations.
• Experience with software and product security, cloud computing, containerized environments, networking, infrastructure, IAM, PKI, and network controls.
• Knowledge of information security standards and frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST CSF.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; strong leadership and influencing skills.

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCISO, CISM, or CISA.
