R&D Engineer I (Medical Devices)

Location: Geleen, Limburg, Netherlands

Salary: €47,360–€71,040 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan short-term incentive.

What you will do

• Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and modelling to evaluate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Design, develop, prototype, and test surgical instruments and related components.
• Support product development from concept through verification, market introduction, and scale-up.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, laser welding, cleaning, and assembly.
• Execute experiments, analyze results, and support technical decisions and design improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, applied physics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English is required.
• Hands-on mindset, eagerness to learn, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate problems from different perspectives.
• Willingness to propose unconventional solutions and learn through experimentation.
