Senior Retirement Administration Specialist

Location: Washington, DC office; on-site five days a week

Salary: $85,100–$127,700 annual

What you will do

• Administer 401(k) and pension programs while monitoring federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
• Validate monthly pension calculations and data entered by third-party administrators.
• Lead retirement plan audits, coordinate with auditors and internal teams, and provide required data and explanations.
• Execute recurring operational audits, investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate retirement plan design changes, system testing, employee communications, and vendor activities.
• Support employees with benefits questions, financial wellness initiatives, utilization reporting, provider payments, and billing reconciliation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• At least seven years of experience in retirement, insurance benefits, financial planning, or actuarial services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. retirement plan regulations, including ERISA, IRS guidelines, and DOL requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plan administration.
• Experience interpreting plan documents, reconciling data across systems, investigating discrepancies, and managing sensitive information confidentially.
• Strong Excel, data manipulation, communication, judgment, and process improvement skills; Workday experience is preferred.

• CEBS, QKA, or a similar professional certification.
