TL;DR
Fraud Operations Intern (Fintech): Monitoring and investigating suspicious transactions and customer behavior for an online installment payment platform with an accent on fraud detection, data analysis, and accurate case resolution. Focus on identifying fraudulent activity, researching emerging fraud patterns, contributing to machine learning and detection systems, and meeting service-level targets.

Location: Remote in Colombia; Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:30 pm local time

Salary: 2,800,000 COP monthly; paid internship

What you will do

  • Monitor real-time transactions and customer behavior flagged for fraud or abuse.
  • Investigate transactions and account patterns using internal policies, review methodologies, and data analysis.
  • Block fraudulent or risky users and clear false-positive alerts.
  • Research fraud trends and user behavior to support machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.
  • Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineers to improve fraud prevention tools and processes.
  • Resolve queued cases and stakeholder escalations within established service-level agreements.

Requirements

  • Experience analyzing data and making impactful decisions in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, problem-solving, analytical, business judgment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
  • Availability to work full-time Monday-Friday during the stated local hours.
  • Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
