Lead Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the Americas, Brazil, or Mexico; candidates must be based in Brazil, Mexico, or the US.

What you will do

• Own the data science strategy and roadmap for the Mexico and Brazil markets.
• Build and ship credit models while remaining hands-on alongside the data science team.
• Establish modelling standards, infrastructure, and delivery practices where needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of data scientists across two markets.
• Partner with credit leadership on modelling, impact measurement, valuation inputs, and P&L analysis.
• Develop methodologies that can be adopted across the wider data science organisation.

Requirements

• Previous experience leading data scientists as a manager or technical lead.
• Strong applied machine learning and modelling expertise.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping models.
• Understanding of credit and underwriting; lending, credit, or payments experience is advantageous.
• Experience working effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-growth, or small-company environments.
• Fluent English required; candidates must be based in Brazil, Mexico, or the US.

• Direct experience in lending, credit, or payments.
• Portuguese language skills.
• Spanish language skills.
