Lead (Staff) Software Engineer (Merchandising)

Location: Must be based in Sweden and hold a valid work permit for Sweden.

A global software company provides a unified AI-enabled supply chain planning platform for retailers and manufacturers, covering demand forecasting, replenishment, merchandising, pricing and promotions, supply chain operations, and production planning.

What you will do

• Own the product codebase and technical outcomes end to end, including architecture decisions, quality standards, production operation, and regression prevention.
• Build, ship, and maintain production-quality code across backend, frontend, and data layers.
• Work directly with customers to gather structured feedback and validate business outcomes.
• Raise engineering standards through code reviews, design feedback, and hands-on mentorship.
• Use AI tools in daily development and critically review AI-generated code.

Requirements

• Experience owning a product or service end to end at senior level or above, including product decisions as well as technical decisions.
• Full-stack proficiency across backend, frontend, and data layers, with substantial depth in at least one area.
• Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers, formally or informally.
• Experience with distributed systems, including designing for failure and scale and running systems in production.
• Clear technical communication with both non-technical stakeholders and engineers.
• Comfort using AI in everyday work and contributing to the broader organizational strategy for AI tools.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Must be based in Sweden and hold a valid work permit for Sweden.
• Experience with products where forecasting, regression, or optimization are core, including reasoning about model behavior.
