Senior Data Engineer - Revenue Data Platform

Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, or New York, New York, USA

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 USD per year, plus equity and possible variable compensation

What you will do

• Design and build high-throughput data pipelines for billing and cost attribution.
• Improve platform latency, Spark performance, sharding, and cross-datacenter reliability.
• Lead root-cause investigations into billing accuracy issues with Finance and Product stakeholders.
• Develop new billing features and maintain production data-processing systems.
• Work across Python and Scala with Spark, Airflow, Trino, and Apache Iceberg.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to engineering standards and technical culture.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and operating production data pipelines at scale with Spark and Airflow.
• Ability to own complex cross-functional investigations and drive issues to resolution.
• Strong analytical judgment and rigor around correctness in data systems.
• Ability to balance feature delivery, platform health, and technical debt in ambiguous environments.
• Commitment to code quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Eligibility for any authorizations required by the US government under export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Iceberg or lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with billing, metering, or financial data systems.
• Experience with low-latency data serving or real-time aggregation pipelines.
