Implementation Engineer (Observability)

What you will do

• Lead structured enterprise implementations from kickoff through initial production readiness.
• Design and configure telemetry ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces, including parsing, enrichment, normalisation, and routing.
• Implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collectors and help customers adopt vendor-neutral observability standards.
• Migrate and modernise observability environments such as Splunk, ELK, and cloud-native monitoring tools into Observe.
• Configure datasets, dashboards, alerts, and other observability assets aligned with customer use cases.
• Define implementation plans, milestones, and success criteria; identify technical risks and architectural gaps; and enable customers to become self-sufficient.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation engineer, solutions architect, technical consultant, or SRE.
• Strong hands-on experience with observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
• Practical experience with OpenTelemetry, including instrumentation, collectors, exporters, and pipelines.
• Experience with one or more commercial or open-source observability solutions, such as Splunk, ELK/Elastic, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Solid understanding of logs, metrics, and traces, including data modelling and trade-offs at scale.
• Experience working in AWS, GCP, or Azure and with modern application architectures.
• Ability to work directly with technical customer teams and communicate clearly at multiple levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity in fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating customers from Splunk or ELK to modern observability platforms.
• Background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerised workloads, and cloud-native tooling.
• Experience creating implementation templates, runbooks, or enablement content.
• Exposure to multiple observability vendors or hybrid observability environments.
