Implementation Engineer

What you will do

• Lead enterprise implementations from kickoff through initial production readiness.
• Design and configure telemetry ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces, including parsing, enrichment, normalization, and routing.
• Work hands-on with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collectors, and migrate Splunk, ELK, and other monitoring environments to Observe.
• Configure datasets, dashboards, alerts, and other observability assets for customer use cases.
• Define implementation plans, milestones, and success criteria while enabling customers to become self-sufficient.
• Identify technical risks, data quality issues, and architectural gaps, collaborating with engineering, product, support, observability engineers, and architects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or SRE.
• Strong hands-on experience with observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
• Practical experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, collectors, exporters, and pipelines.
• Experience with observability solutions such as Splunk, ELK/Elastic, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Understanding of logs, metrics, and traces, including data modeling and scalability tradeoffs.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, modern application architectures, and direct communication with technical customer teams.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating customers from Splunk or ELK to modern observability platforms.
• Background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native tooling.
• Experience creating implementation templates, runbooks, or enablement content.
• Exposure to multiple observability vendors or hybrid observability environments.
