Lead Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Remote within European time zones

Salary: Up to $150,000 USD base per year

What you will do

• Build and modernise backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Design scalable, high-throughput services and APIs.
• Own architectural decisions and independently solve complex technical problems.
• Use and review AI-generated code while maintaining engineering standards.
• Work closely with product teams to deliver reliable features.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and SQL skills.
• Strong architecture, testing, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted development.
