Location: The position can be located in Colorado, California, Texas, Florida, or Virginia. The role requires up to 25% travel to test and launch sites, including U.S. launch facilities and Esrange Space Center in Sweden. U.S. government export regulations require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

What you will do
- Develop and execute integrated test and launch operations across multiple launch sites.
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with ground systems, vehicle, software, technician, and external partner teams.
- Commission ground systems and operate integrated vehicle and ground systems from the console.
- Lead troubleshooting, non-conformance resolution, and anomaly investigations during testing and operations.
- Develop automation sequences, operational software tools, procedures, processes, guidelines, and training.
- Coordinate with customers and regulatory stakeholders to ensure interoperability and range-safety compliance, while directing Operations team members and supporting hiring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in test operations, launch operations, or another high-consequence operational environment.
- Experience with real-time on-console operations and with developing automation sequences and procedures for hazardous or mission-critical systems.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or a similar programming language applied to operational tooling, data analysis, or automation.
- Ability to work around field testing, heavy equipment, and hazardous materials and to support off-hour launch shifts.
- Must meet applicable ITAR authorization requirements and be able to obtain a security clearance.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- System-level knowledge of launch vehicles and ground subsystems, including fluids, propulsion, avionics, structures, and software controls.
- Experience with distributed control systems, SCADA, data acquisition architectures, hazard analysis, or federal launch ranges.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and regulations, plus project, vendor, budget, and schedule management.
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and version control systems such as Git, SVN, or Bitbucket.
