Test Automation Engineer (Software) (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $105,000–$160,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the design, implementation, and operation of test automation software.
• Develop software and tools for testing operations, including near-real-time data acquisition, control systems, GUIs, and user-facing tools.
• Support the complete test program lifecycle from design and integration through testing, deployment, and debugging.
• Work closely with test operations teams that use the software daily.
• Review and write production code while resolving technical issues with innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of demonstrated proficiency with Python or another object-oriented programming language, with hands-on software operation experience.
• Experience developing user-facing applications involving networking, hardware control, and data acquisition.
• Knowledge of software development best practices and workflows, including Git.
• Ability to work onsite in Redondo Beach and meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with data acquisition and control principles, propulsion systems development testing, or real-time operating systems.
• LabVIEW certification such as CLAD, CLD, or CLA.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating electrical systems.
• Master’s degree in electrical, software, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
• Startup or agile development experience and demonstrated project ownership in small teams.
