Senior Spectrum Systems Engineer (Satcom): Designing spectrum-compliant satellite communication systems through regulatory analysis, end-to-end simulation, and verification with an accent on EPFD, PFD, EIRP, interference modelling, and ITU filings. Focus on translating ITU-R and NGSO requirements into payload and terminal limits, modelling coexistence across LEO constellations, and shaping frequency reuse, beam hopping, and power-control strategies.
Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; Mallorca, Spain; Porto, Portugal; or Tenerife, Spain. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do
- Translate EPFD, PFD, EIRP, and other regulatory constraints into system and subsystem requirements.
- Build and own end-to-end simulation models for interference and spectrum compliance.
- Define design-to-compliance limits for satellite payloads and user terminals.
- Model interference, coexistence, and mitigation strategies across LEO constellations.
- Produce datasets for ITU filings and coordination, and lead ground and in-orbit verification and validation.
- Support spectrum usage strategies and external regulatory engagement with ITU-R and WRC.
Requirements
- Strong systems engineering fundamentals, including requirements management, verification, and validation; MBSE experience is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of RF spectrum compliance, including EPFD, PFD, EIRP, and emissions.
- Experience with Visualyse EPFD, STK, or similar tools.
- Strong Python or MATLAB skills for simulation and analysis.
- Understanding of LEO systems, link budgets, orbital dynamics, ITU-R regulations, and NGSO systems.
- Familiarity with DVB-S2X, 3GPP NTN, or similar standards; CV submission in English is required.
