Senior Mission Manager (Space)

Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; or Porto, Portugal. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do

• Own the full mission lifecycle from initial requirements through launch and in-orbit commissioning.
• Translate complex mission concepts into executable plans covering timelines, resources, budgets, and delivery frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, AIT, manufacturing, supply chain, and mission operations.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee integration of launch services, ground segments, regulatory approvals, and mission elements.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensure technical and contractual compliance, mentor mission managers, and support proposals and cost modelling.

Requirements

• Experience delivering projects in complex, multidisciplinary environments, ideally in space or high-reliability engineering.
• Understanding of satellite systems, payloads, or mission operations.
• Ability to balance scope, schedule, cost, and risk across parallel workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management, structured communication, decision-making, and commercial awareness.
• Familiarity with contracts, supplier coordination, regulatory and compliance requirements, and project management tools such as MS Project or Jira.
• Legal right to work in the selected UK, Greek, Spanish, or Portuguese location. English is required for the application.
