Senior Software Engineer - Analytics Engineering (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Hybrid work required at the Austin, TX or Somerset, NJ location; ability to travel 10%.

Estimated annual pay range: $125,000–$140,000, including base salary.

What you will do

• Design, build, optimize, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models using Power BI Desktop, Tabular Editor, and related tools.
• Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations for complex business logic, reporting requirements, and analytical use cases.
• Deliver analytics solutions across Microsoft Fabric lakehouse, warehouse, data pipeline, dataset, dataflow, report, and semantic model components.
• Implement row-level security, incremental refresh, performance tuning, and model architecture improvements.
• Partner with data engineers, analysts, report developers, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted analytics solutions.
• Support BI governance through documentation, data quality practices, Microsoft Purview alignment, version control, and technical enablement.

Requirements

• Advanced expertise in analytics engineering, semantic modeling, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Strong proficiency with DAX and deep understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and star schema design.
• 5+ years of experience developing Power BI solutions, including semantic models, reports, and enterprise analytics assets.
• Hands-on experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit, and Microsoft Fabric analytics workloads.
• Familiarity with lakehouse storage concepts, Parquet and Delta file formats, Agile delivery practices, and GitHub or similar version control.
• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Certification in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or related Microsoft data platforms.
• Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or analytics engineering workflows.
• Experience with PowerApps automation and Copilot Studio.
