Middle/Senior Python Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote, based in Kazakhstan; Petropavlovsk listed as the city/region

What you will do

• Build and maintain features, services, and backend components for the Trumo payment platform using Python, FastAPI, and Flask.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable, and well-documented RESTful APIs in a microservices environment.
• Investigate bugs and performance issues, implement pragmatic fixes, and improve reliability, security, and user experience.
• Model database schemas and develop performant queries across SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, environment configuration, and basic observability using logs, metrics, and traces.

Requirements

• More than 4 years of professional Python experience in production.
• Proficiency with FastAPI or Flask; Django experience is also valued.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, including versioning, pagination, authentication, and documentation.
• Solid SQL and PostgreSQL skills, plus working knowledge of Redis or MongoDB.
• Practical experience with microservices, distributed systems, messaging or asynchronous patterns, Docker, Docker Compose, testing, code reviews, and CI.
• Solid English and the ability to work remotely from Kazakhstan.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AWS and infrastructure automation.
• Experience in fintech, payment processing, or PCI-aware environments.
• Familiarity with React or modern frontend workflows for API integration.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or advanced CI/CD practices.
