Applied AI Engineer: Space & EO (Data)

Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; or Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Design and deliver AI-powered pilots and applications using Earth Observation data.
• Build computer vision models for detection, segmentation, and classification.
• Develop LLM-driven workflows combining EO data with retrieval, tool-calling, orchestration, and multi-step reasoning.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the DataCosmos platform through scalable APIs and architecture.
• Support deployment, containerization, and production readiness of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with commercial teams, customers, and partners while iterating on pilots and contributing reusable AI components.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of applied AI and machine learning techniques.
• Experience building computer vision solutions for image-based data and end-to-end AI workflows.
• Understanding of LLM systems, orchestration workflows, and retrieval-based approaches.
• Familiarity with APIs, scalable systems, platform integration, containerization, and Docker.
• Strong problem-solving, experimentation, execution, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Legal right to work in the selected European location is required.
