Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Hybrid role requiring attendance at least 3 days per week at GSIQ in Solihull, UK

What you will do

• Investigate, manage, and respond to cyber security events and incidents.
• Work with the Security Operations Centre and technology teams to improve monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
• Lead the vulnerability management programme, including risk identification, assessment, prioritisation, and remediation.
• Conduct threat intelligence and open-source threat analysis to identify emerging business risks.
• Develop security detections, playbooks, and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Coordinate stakeholders during major incidents and provide actionable, business-focused security recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a cyber security team, with a strong focus on incident detection.
• Hands-on experience in a Security Operations environment and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of information security principles across web, network, and endpoint technologies.
• Working knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Excellent communication, organisation, prioritisation, problem-solving, and ownership skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Nice to have

• Degree in Cyber Security or a related discipline.
• Industry certifications such as ISC2, Microsoft, BCS, or CompTIA.
• Experience with vulnerability management tooling and programmes.
• Experience improving cyber security operations in a growing or complex business environment.
