Research Intern (Machine Learning)

Location: Fully remote; hiring between the West Coast (PT) and Central Europe (CET) time zones

What you will do

• Contribute to original deep learning research focused on modular architectures, verifiability, continual learning, and scale.
• Design and prototype neural network architectures for decentralized compute environments.
• Research scalable, distributed machine learning systems across heterogeneous devices.
• Collaborate with academic and industry researchers on joint projects and publications.
• Target research venues including NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program, or exceptionally a Master’s program, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Prior experience conducting original research, ideally with authorship or co-authorship of machine learning papers.
• Strong understanding of deep learning fundamentals and experience with at least one major framework, such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Self-directed, curious, and comfortable working with high autonomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Research experience in distributed systems, continual learning, or modular neural architectures.
• Interest in open research and collaboration with the broader machine learning community.
• Experience at the intersection of cryptography and machine learning.
