Detection Researcher (Coding Focused) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Worldwide, with preference for candidates in Europe; remote positions are listed in Spain, Argentina, the Netherlands, Romania, and the United Kingdom, with an onsite location in Riga, Latvia.

What you will do

• Research and analyze advanced detection-bypass techniques, including rooting, hooking, and runtime application or system tampering.
• Evaluate and reverse-engineer attack and evasion tools, documenting findings, technical issues, and attack vectors.
• Design, prototype, and implement detection techniques and algorithms for multiple operating systems.
• Develop and improve internal tooling and automation for analysis, triage, and detection development.
• Conduct penetration testing and adversary emulation to validate newly introduced security features.
• Review detection-related code and technical contributions for quality, maintainability, and correctness.

Requirements

• Strong programming experience in C, C++, Python, and Java.
• Experience with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, or equivalent, including scripting and SDK usage.
• Knowledge of ELF and Mach-O file formats and ability to consult official technical documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and lead focused sub-groups toward research objectives or project features.
• Knowledge of code obfuscation and de-obfuscation techniques and related community tools and methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with the LLVM framework.
