Senior Backend Engineer (Fintech): Lead development and scaling of backend payment and ledger systems for trucking and logistics payments infrastructure with an accent on transaction reconciliation, money movement flows, and system reliability. Location
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Montreal, hybrid, in-office 4 days/week (Mon-Thurs)
Salary: $150K – $190K (US), CA$175K – CA$220K (Canada) plus equity and bonus

What you will do
- Lead reconciliation of transactions across multiple financial providers ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Align internal records with customer-facing balances precisely.
- Develop and scale general ledger infrastructure for resilience and growth.
- Collaborate with external ledger provider to build a reliable high-volume transaction system.
- Design and implement new money movement flows optimizing cost, speed, and reliability.
- Own critical backend and platform projects end-to-end from design to production operations.
Requirements
- Must be located in San Francisco Bay Area or Montreal with in-office presence 4 days/week (Mon-Thurs)
- 5+ years professional experience building B2B or B2C SaaS products; fintech or payments experience a plus.
- Strong coding skills with ability to learn new tools quickly (React, Ruby, Postgres used).
- Ability to communicate effectively across time zones.
- Experience in high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environments balancing speed and rigor.
