Company

hirify.global develops generalist intelligent robots across hardware, robot systems, infrastructure, foundation models, and manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Own thermal management across the complete robot platform, including cooling devices, thermal paths, heat dissipation, and system-level requirements.
  • Partner with structures, actuators, and electrical hardware teams to optimize cooling device placement, sizing, and implementation.
  • Build detailed thermal simulations, including CFD where appropriate, and lead verification across operating environments and use cases.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineers on thermal management algorithms, derating, and shutdown strategies.
  • Work with Safety Engineers to integrate thermal constraints into system safety analyses.
  • Document thermal specifications, analyses, simulation results, and verification plans for design and regulatory traceability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in thermal systems analysis, heat transfer, thermal modeling, and cooling device design and selection.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with thermal simulation tools and advanced thermal modeling techniques.
  • Experience decomposing system-level thermal requirements into component and subsystem specifications.
  • Strong systems-thinking across mechanical, electrical, and control layers, with experience collaborating across Hardware, Controls, Safety, Systems Integration, and Product teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, and cross-functional alignment skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, or similar CFD tools.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for thermal modeling, control algorithms, or co-simulation.
  • Python experience for thermal data analysis, automation, or custom tooling.
  • Exposure to ISO 26262, IEC 61508, requirements traceability tools, robotics, embedded systems, or high-performance hardware.
  • Experience turning field-observed thermal issues into durable engineering improvements.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time role within the Hardware department.
  • Cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, controls, systems integration, safety, and product.
  • Compensation includes equity.
