Founding ML Engineer (Cybersecurity): Building Adaptive's ML capabilities for detecting, classifying, and responding to cybersecurity threats in real time with an accent on production ML systems, adversarial threats, and strict latency constraints. Focus on defining the ML strategy, establishing infrastructure and evaluation methodology, building data feedback loops, and leading the emerging ML team.

What you will do
- Define the ML strategy across products, including infrastructure needs and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Design and build production ML systems end to end, including data pipelines, model training, evaluation frameworks, and inference serving.
- Establish methodologies for measuring model quality, detecting regressions, and evaluating model changes.
- Define data acquisition and labeling strategies, feedback loops, and processes for continuous model improvement.
- Partner with product engineers to integrate ML into the existing codebase while writing production software.
- Build and lead the ML team as the function expands.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building ML systems in production.
- Experience establishing an ML function at an early-stage startup or serving as a senior or lead ML engineer.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-quality coding skills in Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- Experience with cloud ML infrastructure such as AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Modal, Baseten, or similar platforms.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark, and data processing systems.
- Ability to work across infrastructure, backend services, and data systems, mentor engineers, and operate with high autonomy.
