Head of Data Science (Fintech)

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia — hybrid, with remote and in-person work

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 20+ data scientists across credit risk, collections, growth, fraud, and customer analytics.
• Define the strategic vision, priorities, and long-term roadmap of the data science function with the Chief Data Officer.
• Oversee the development, validation, and deployment of models across multiple business domains.
• Contribute hands-on to data analysis, model building, and technical problem solving when needed.
• Collaborate with ML engineering teams to integrate models into operational systems and data pipelines.
• Present model performance and strategic insights to senior leadership and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in data science or machine learning.
• 3–5 years of experience in team leadership or management, preferably with large teams.
• Experience across areas such as credit risk, collections, growth, fraud, or customer analytics.
• Strong skills across the full data science lifecycle, including data analysis, feature engineering, model development, and production deployment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior business leaders.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Indonesian market or Southeast Asian financial services industry.
