What you will do
- Design database schemas for web applications and develop backend and frontend web applications.
- Build web-based user interfaces and machine-to-machine services for engineering and business systems.
- Develop software and unit tests for bug fixes and feature requests.
- Review source code merge requests and participate in Scrum activities, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
- Maintain work-in-progress tickets and collaborate with engineers and colleagues across departments.
- Contribute ideas in team meetings while working on real aerospace and space technology projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and progressing toward a tertiary diploma, certificate, or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Development experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience with an MVC frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, growth mindset, and passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
- For New Zealand office roles, nationality checks and background checks are required before an employment offer; eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required.
Nice to have
- Node experience.
- Clean code principles, patterns, and practices.
- Git or similar source code management tools.
- Linux development environments.
- Jira, agile Scrum methodologies, or previous web development internship/project experience.
