iBMi (ISeries) System Administrator

What you will do

• Administer and support large IBM i environments to maintain system stability, performance, and security.
• Perform IBM i operating system upgrades, patching, and Program Temporary Fix and cumulative PTF management.
• Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and disk utilization and resolve performance issues proactively.
• Manage BRMS-based backup and recovery operations, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Configure and maintain LPAR environments, TCP/IP networking, and connected system devices.
• Maintain user profiles, security settings, access controls, and audit-related configurations while troubleshooting hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of IBM i, iSeries, or IBMi system administration experience.
• Experience with IBM i operating system upgrades, PTF management, security administration, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture and core IBM i technologies.
• Experience with BRMS or an equivalent backup and recovery solution, plus disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing.
• Experience managing LPAR environments and TCP/IP configurations.
• Knowledge of IBM i security concepts, including user authorities, object security, auditing, and system monitoring tools.

Nice to have

• Exposure to IBM i scripting or automation technologies such as CL, SQL, or RPG.
