Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Base salary: $300,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own the compute and cloud foundation supporting frontier AI research and large-scale experiments.
• Design sandboxed and secure execution environments for agents and untrusted code.
• Operate CPU and GPU Kubernetes clusters with scheduling, autoscaling, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Build infrastructure capabilities for model training, inference, and research workloads.
• Develop state management systems for long-running agents, including checkpointing, recovery, and resumption.
• Build networking across clouds, clusters, and hosts, including routing, peering, load balancing, and network isolation.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating infrastructure for large-scale compute and cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, multi-cluster compute, and CPU/GPU workload management.
• Understanding of the resource and scheduling requirements of AI training and inference workloads.
• Experience with secure execution, distributed systems, networking, or infrastructure reliability.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
