TL;DR
Contracts Manager (Aerospace): Managing government and commercial contracts for satellite manufacturing and aerospace defense programs with an accent on proposal review, contract negotiation, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Focus on interpreting complex terms, resolving contractual risks, supporting cost and pricing activities, and advising program and business leadership.

Location: Fully onsite in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Manage government and commercial contracts across cost reimbursement, fixed-price, IDIQ, time-and-material, and Other Transaction Agreement structures.
  • Review bids and proposals, lead contract volumes, and identify risks against company policies and customer solicitation requirements.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and administer teaming, licensing, proprietary information, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Advise business, technical, program management, and executive leadership on contractual rights, obligations, and negotiation strategies.
  • Support cost and pricing processes, resolve contractual issues, and serve as a customer-facing point of contact.
  • Maintain templates, training materials, policies, procedures, performance metrics, and compliance with export controls, FCPA, anti-boycott rules, and contractual flow-downs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive government and commercial contract management experience supporting multiple technical programs.
  • Experience leading complex negotiations and strong knowledge of contracting principles, DoD acquisition policy, FAR, DFARS, and the NASA FAR supplement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, leadership, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate with senior leadership, and work extended hours when required.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required. Export-control eligibility or authorization under U.S. regulations is also required.

Nice to have

  • NCMA CPCM or DAU DAWIA Level III in Contracting certification.
  • Experience with U.S. export regulations.
