Member of Technical Staff, Training Infra (AI)

Location: Bay Area, United States; in-office

Salary: $200,000–$350,000 USD annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize distributed training systems across thousands of GPUs and nodes.
• Develop high-performance optimizations to maximize training throughput and efficiency.
• Build reusable frameworks and libraries for training reproducibility, reliability, and scalability.
• Enable efficient experimentation and training for new model architectures.

Requirements

• BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Systems-level understanding of ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Strong engineering skills with performant, maintainable code and complex codebase debugging.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one systems programming language: C++, Rust, or Go.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining language models with tens of billions of parameters or more.
• Experience with Kubeflow or Airflow.
• Performance optimization and profiling experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with PyTorch/XLA, DeepSpeed, or Megatron-LM.
