TL;DR
Addiction Medicine Physician (NJ/IMLC) (SUD treatment and telemedicine): Providing virtual assessments, diagnoses, personalized treatment plans, and medication management for substance use disorders with an accent on evidence-based care, MAT, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Focus on prescribing and monitoring naltrexone and Suboxone, collaborating across an interdisciplinary clinical team, and delivering care through an AI-augmented EHR.

Location: Remote, United States only. The role averages approximately 10 hours per week, with a possible 5–10% travel requirement for states requiring in-person assessments.

Pay range: $175–$215 USD per hour.

What you will do

  • Provide virtual assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, referrals, and medication management for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
  • Prescribe and monitor Medication Assisted Treatment, including naltrexone, Suboxone, and other evidence-based pharmacotherapies.
  • Use Atlas, an AI-native EHR that supports documentation, clinical context, and evidence-based guidance during sessions.
  • Collaborate with counselors, coaches, member operations, clinical, growth, and product teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes.
  • Participate in case reviews, journal clubs, grand rounds, peer reviews, and clinical protocol development.
  • Educate members and maintain accurate documentation supporting quality assurance and compliance.

Requirements

  • Board certification as an MD or DO in Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or another qualifying ABMS/AOA primary specialty.
  • Significant substance use disorder treatment experience; Addiction Psychiatry training or Addiction Medicine certification/eligibility is required according to the qualifying specialty.
  • Active licensure in at least one U.S. state; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed. Oklahoma or Pennsylvania licensure is preferred.
  • DEA registration and a current state controlled-substance license, or applications in process.
  • Telemedicine experience and advanced comfort with digital platforms and electronic health records.
  • Comfort working in an AI-augmented care environment and strong interdisciplinary communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
  • Previous experience in digital health or telemedicine.
