TL;DR

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office five days a week

Salary: $160K–$215K annually

What you will do

  • Design and analyze aircraft aerodynamics across subsonic, transonic, and supersonic flight regimes.
  • Perform CFD analysis using multiple solvers, including gridding and post-processing.
  • Develop aerodynamic optimization methods and parametric geometry models.
  • Support the design, fabrication, testing, and data analysis of wind tunnel models.
  • Collaborate on concept refinement, multidisciplinary trade studies, and MDAO systems.
  • Lead concept refinement and cross-disciplinary work while helping develop the flight sciences team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in aerodynamic design and analysis, CFD, and optimization.
  • Expertise in CFD solvers, parametric geometry modeling, wind tunnel testing, mesh adaptation, and adjoint-based or heuristic optimization.
  • Experience synthesizing computational, experimental, and multi-fidelity data for aerodynamics, performance, stability and control, simulation, and flight testing.
  • Experience architecting MDAO frameworks for transonic and supersonic configurations and integrating multiple solvers and models.
  • Proficiency with HPC environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google HPC, plus proven multidisciplinary leadership and complex project management experience.
