Visual Database Engineering Lead

Location: Altus, OK, USA. Work is performed primarily in an engineering lab or office, with occasional onsite support at customer locations or training facilities. Only U.S. citizens are eligible; DoD Personal Security Clearance eligibility is required.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise the day-to-day work of assigned Visual Database Engineers, including priorities, assignments, progress, quality, coaching, and development input.
• Design, modify, develop, implement, test, integrate, and maintain visual, radar, and 3-D databases for C-17 simulation and training systems.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for complex database issues, design decisions, troubleshooting, software installation, operating-system support, and integration.
• Translate technical and customer requirements into database designs, work plans, assignments, schedules, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with TSSC Engineering, Test Engineers, Pilot Instructors, SMEs, management, and customers to validate accuracy, performance, usability, and reliability.
• Track milestones, dependencies, risks, resource constraints, and project status while supporting customer commitments and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least eight years of related experience, including a minimum of six years in visual database development, simulation systems, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading technical work, coordinating projects, mentoring engineers, or supervising technical employees.
• Working knowledge of engineering development lifecycles, technical documentation, integration, testing, and configuration-control practices.
• Ability to organize work, set priorities, resolve technical challenges, and communicate status and risks to management and customers.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering visual databases for simulation, training, or mission rehearsal applications.
• Experience supporting C-17 or comparable military training systems.
• Proficiency with terrain-generation tools, 3-D modeling techniques, visual database toolsets, and radar database development.
• Strong technical judgment, analytical capability, communication skills, and experience building team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
