Staff Data Scientist (Women Applicants Only)

Location: Remote-first within Brazil, with the option to work from São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces up to twice a week.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and deploy machine learning systems to production, primarily for chatbots and search.
• Design and execute experiments using structured, unstructured, observational, and experimental data.
• Improve existing models and create new machine learning solutions for product features.
• Apply the scientific method to LLM-powered applications, including prompt testing, agent evaluation, capability analysis, and guardrail assessment.
• Build generative AI proofs of concept and validate their feasibility for product use cases.
• Contribute to Data Science chapter discussions, design reviews, guilds, demos, and technical decisions.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of machine learning concepts, including regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, feature selection, cross-validation, model explainability, and bias-variance trade-offs.
• Good understanding of the engineering challenges involved in deploying machine learning systems to production.
• Proficiency in Python and some knowledge or experience with deep learning.
• Experience providing technical guidance to other data scientists.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Good English skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory.

Nice to have

• MSc or equivalent intensive experience in machine learning, data science, information retrieval, ranking, recommender systems, natural language processing, or a related field.
• Applied generative AI experience with agents, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, routing, monitoring, or guardrails.
• Experience working at fast-growing startups.
