Investigation Officer (Mortgage and Financing)

What you will do

• Conduct on-site visits to clients’ residences and business locations to verify mortgage and financing application information.
• Interview applicants, references, and other relevant parties to assess creditworthiness and risk factors.
• Verify financial documents, employment records, and supporting information for accuracy and authenticity.
• Document findings, prepare detailed investigation reports, and provide recommendations for lending decisions.
• Share investigative findings with credit analysts and other internal teams.
• Stay current on investigation-related regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in investigations, preferably in financial services, banking, or a related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong skills in information gathering, interviewing, data analysis, and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory investigation requirements, privacy laws, and confidentiality standards.
• Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet investigation deadlines.
