Senior Account Manager, Public Relations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid for candidates within commuting distance of the San Francisco, CA or New York, NY offices, with three in-office days per week; fully remote only from the listed US states.

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 per year, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Lead strategic media and analyst relations programs for cybersecurity clients in threat intelligence, incident response, data protection, and cloud security.
• Manage up to five client accounts, directing teams of 5–10 members and overseeing programs from kickoff through measurable results.
• Develop story angles, proactive media outreach, executive interviews, contributed content, and thought leadership campaigns.
• Provide strategic counsel aligned with client business objectives and cybersecurity goals.
• Manage budgets, staffing allocations, billing, expenses, workflow, and account health.
• Support new business development, client expansion, agency training, writing, digital communications, and crisis efforts.

Requirements

• At least six years of experience in PR, marketing, or communications agencies, including at least one year as an Account Manager.
• Prior experience managing cybersecurity clients in an agency environment.
• Strong understanding of the cybersecurity industry and its media landscape, with established relationships among cybersecurity, technology, and business media.
• Proven ability to develop communications strategies that improve visibility and credibility for cybersecurity brands.
• Strong writing, storytelling, strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
• Must reside in one of the listed US states at the time of hire; hybrid candidates must be within commuting distance of the San Francisco or New York office.
