Data & AI Governance Lead

What you will do

• Own the AI governance program, including use-case intake, risk triage and scoring, registers, issue tracking, and Governance Council reviews.
• Author and maintain AI governance standards, risk taxonomies, scoring rubrics, and review frameworks aligned with evolving U.S. regulations and AI risk frameworks.
• Assess AI use cases, vendor and model risk, regulatory exposure, approval conditions, and remediation progress.
• Establish and operate the data governance program, including classification, ownership, stewardship, lineage, quality, and governance councils.
• Partner with Privacy, Data Security, Data Protection, Data Platform, and Data Engineering & Analytics teams to define and measure governance standards.
• Maintain governance metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting while supporting SOC 2, HITRUST, and HIPAA assurance activities.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of GRC experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on AI/ML governance or AI risk management.
• Experience with AI and data governance, data flows, third-party risk, AI use-case intake, risk scoring, registers, review boards, or governance councils.
• Experience with workflow automation and agentic tools such as Claude Code.
• Knowledge of the NIST AI RMF, U.S. federal AI executive orders, and emerging state AI laws.
• Experience building or operating data governance programs covering classification, ownership, stewardship, lineage, and data quality.
• Experience with healthcare data, HIPAA, PHI handling, governance standards, risk taxonomies, and executive reporting.

Nice to have

• AIGP, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer, CIPP, CISA, CDMC, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with IPO readiness, SOC 2 or HITRUST audit cycles, third-party and embedded AI, model risk, and data catalog tooling.
