AI Research Residency (Agentic AI)

Location: On-site in New York City, Copenhagen, London, or Silicon Valley

hirify.global is an applied AI company developing foundational hardware and software for the semiconductor industry, AI infrastructure, and advanced computing systems.

What you will do

• Design experiments and build multi-agent and reinforcement learning strategies for agentic code generation and tool use.
• Develop research prototypes integrated with the agentic code generation platform.
• Build evaluation suites, task specifications, benchmarks, and performance dashboards for sequential-decision systems.
• Acquire and curate technical datasets, including synthetic data where appropriate.
• Lead an original research investigation with rigorous experimentation, analysis, and documentation.
• Co-author a research paper and present the results at the company-wide research colloquium.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an MS, PhD, or equivalent research experience in computer science, AI, machine learning, or a related field.
• Strong Python skills and proficiency with modern machine learning frameworks, preferably PyTorch.
• Familiarity with agentic LLM concepts, including multi-agent systems, tool use, reinforcement learning variants, constrained decoding, or program synthesis.
• Experience turning research ideas into working, reasonably reproducible code.
• Ability or willingness to acquire and curate datasets, consider licensing and provenance, and build evaluation frameworks for agentic tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ownership-oriented and self-directed approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with program synthesis, code generation, constrained decoding, or offline reinforcement learning.
• Open-source contributions to CleanRL, LangGraph, Transformers, or similar frameworks.
• Exposure to the semiconductor domain, research publications, technical writing, or live technical presentations.
