Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote-first within Brazil, with the option to work from São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces up to twice a week.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and deploy machine learning systems to production, primarily for chatbots and search.
• Design and execute experiments using structured, unstructured, observational, and experimental data.
• Improve existing models and create new machine learning solutions for product squads.
• Apply the scientific method to LLM-powered applications, including prompt testing, agent evaluation, and guardrail assessment.
• Build proof-of-concepts to validate generative AI features and participate in Data Science chapter discussions, design reviews, and demos.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience applying data science and creating machine learning models.
• Expert knowledge of machine learning concepts, including regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, feature selection, cross-validation, model explainability, and bias-variance tradeoffs.
• Understanding of the engineering challenges involved in deploying machine learning systems to production.
• Proficiency in Python and some knowledge or experience with deep learning.
• Experience providing technical guidance to other data scientists and strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Good written and verbal English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• MSc or equivalent intensive experience in machine learning, data science, information retrieval, ranking, recommender systems, or natural language processing.
• Experience with applied generative AI, including AI agents, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, routing, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Experience working at fast-growing startups.
