Fullstack Software Engineer (Java - React) (Fintech)

Location: Mexico City, Mexico — hybrid work with expected office presence, especially during ramp-up or when required by the leader

What you will do

• Own end-to-end feature development for the Collections squad, from data models and APIs to customer and internal interfaces.
• Design and implement backend services with Java and Spring Boot for payments, collections, and reconciliation flows.
• Build and maintain frontend interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Manage PostgreSQL and Redis for transactional data and caching needs.
• Develop event-driven microservices and secure RESTful APIs in a distributed systems environment.
• Collaborate with the Pod Lead and Product Manager to translate product needs into technical decisions and proactively identify gaps.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience delivering production interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Git, and cloud platforms; AWS is preferred.
• Daily use of AI coding tools for writing, reviewing, and debugging code.
• Working proficiency in English and Spanish; hybrid availability in Mexico City is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers.
• Background in financial services, payments, or fintech.
• Experience with Kubernetes and production observability.
• A side project, open-source contribution, or internal tool to demonstrate.
