Financial Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with three days per week in-office (Tuesday, Thursday, and one additional day of choice), with the option to request extra remote time.

Salary: €30,500–€39,000 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Own general ledger and subledger activities, including accounts payable and receivable, suspense account clearing, and bank movement reconciliations.
• Prepare and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations with consistent documentation and traceability.
• Manage fixed asset capitalization, amortization schedules, and Capex accounting treatments.
• Coordinate payroll accounting entries, accruals, reconciliations, and statutory record consistency.
• Support statutory audits, VAT and other tax filings by preparing accurate accounting documentation and data.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting efficiency, controls, and documentation.

Requirements

• At least two years of accounting experience in fintech, finance, or corporate services, with strong exposure to full closing cycles.
• Solid knowledge of Italian and/or Luxembourg GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with structured ERP environments, modern digital accounting ecosystems, and advanced spreadsheets.
• Fluency in Italian and English is required for communication with the international team.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with automation, data tools, or scripting-based accounting workflows.
• IFRS exposure.
