V&V Engineer, Electrical (Automotive)

What you will do

• Characterize vehicles and derive electrical requirements at vehicle, module, and component levels with traceability to test evidence.
• Own electrical DVP&R activities, including functional, performance, EMC/EMI, environmental, stress, and robustness testing.
• Build and maintain custom test fixtures and troubleshoot electrical functionality, compatibility, and performance issues.
• Partner with design, systems, quality, and software engineers to integrate electrical V&V and Design for Test practices.
• Manage compliance testing and certification against ISO 26262, UL 4600, ISO 16750, ISO 11451/11452, UL, CE, IEC, and OEM standards.
• Develop the electrical V&V methodology, laboratory capabilities, and toolchain, and assess OEM DV/PV processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in electrical V&V, preferably in automotive or heavy vehicles.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive DV/PV, PPAP, and APQP processes.
• Experience working with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
• Practical knowledge of environmental and EMC standards, including SAE J1455, ISO 11451/11452, or MIL-STD-810, plus AEC standards.
• Experience characterizing vehicles to establish environmental and EMC requirements and adapting V&V processes for different OEMs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile/Scrum, self-driving vehicles, NRTL/UL and CE certification.
• Experience with SolidWorks, ANSYS, Polarion, HIL test benches, and automated regression testing.
• Knowledge of HALT/HASS, Weibull or reliability demonstration analysis, FMEA, FTA, and RCA.
• Experience with CANbus, Python, Shell, Unix OS, and SPICE.
