Engineer Staff, Firmware (Optical Communications)

What you will do

• Design and implement firmware for microcontrollers and other embedded platforms used in optical communication products.
• Develop low-level GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and PWM drivers and integrate peripherals.
• Ensure reliable communication between hardware modules, firmware, and application-layer software.
• Develop firmware debugging GUIs and support laboratory engineering investigations.
• Create memory maps, register files, design documentation, and test reports.
• Troubleshoot firmware issues, perform failure analysis, and develop root-cause improvements.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant industry experience and independent firmware development experience for mass-production products.
• Proficiency with microcontrollers, firmware flashing and updating methods, version control, and real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
• Experience using JTAG, SWD, in-circuit debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.3, OIF, MSA, and CMIS standards, as well as analog and digital circuit design.
• Knowledge of MCUs, ASICs, sensors, laser drivers, TEC controllers, regulators, and semiconductor lasers for optical communication.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin are required. A degree in electrical engineering, photoelectric engineering, computer engineering, telecommunication, or a related field is required.
