Assistant Financial Controller

Location: Must be located in Dubai, UAE

What you will do

• Support month-end and year-end close, management accounts, regional reporting packs, and statutory financial statements for Middle East entities.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances, and provide commercial insight to regional directors and country managers.
• Coordinate internal and external audits across multiple jurisdictions, prepare audit schedules, and resolve auditor queries.
• Monitor billing, payroll, payments, cash positions, working capital, staff costs, and overheads.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, provisions, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany balances.
• Support corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, regulatory compliance, and financial control improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial control roles.
• Demonstrated experience managing external audits and preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, accrual accounting principles, financial controls, billing, and payroll processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Experience improving processes and strengthening financial controls within a multinational, multi-jurisdictional organisation.
• Must be located in Dubai, UAE.
