Manager, Engineering (Backend Development)

What you will do

• Lead the technical execution of a core cloud backend engineering pod while remaining hands-on with high-performance Go and cloud infrastructure code.
• Design and optimize resilient distributed ingestion services for large binary and structured payloads from vehicle data loggers.
• Architect APIs for remote configuration, triggers, orchestration, and firmware updates under constrained cellular connectivity.
• Build storage-tiering architectures across SQL, NoSQL, OLAP databases, and cold-storage data lakes.
• Scale, recruit, mentor, and develop an AI backend engineering team delivering AI features, automation loops, and platform integrations.
• Establish code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, service testing guardrails, and delivery practices across cross-functional and international teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 9+ years of backend software development experience and experience leading technical engineering squads as a Tech Lead, Component Owner, or Engineering Manager.
• Experience with cloud/server-side components of hardware data logger ecosystems or industrial IoT and automotive edge-to-cloud architectures.
• Understanding of CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and cloud-layer processing of BLF, MDF4, or PCAP log files.
• Production experience delivering an AI/ML feature, intelligent workflow, or model pipeline in a distributed cloud environment.
• Proficiency with public cloud, microservices, serverless solutions, Docker, Kubernetes, Go or comparable systems-level backend languages, and distributed streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Spark.
