TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Operations Trainer (LMS/Lean Manufacturing): Developing and delivering data-driven training programs for manufacturing operations with an accent on workforce competency, SOP governance, and learning analytics. Focus on optimizing LMS administration, supporting NPI and automation initiatives, and improving operational performance through Lean Manufacturing and adult learning principles.
Location: Onsite at the Penang SDSM Office in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia

What you will do
- Develop and implement data-driven training strategies aligned with manufacturing goals and workforce capability requirements.
- Design and facilitate instructor-led, virtual, blended, and digital learning programs for manufacturing operations.
- Administer the LMS, including curriculum creation, assignments, compliance tracking, reporting, and system optimization.
- Lead SOP governance, including creation, review, approval, revision control, and training deployment.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing leaders to address skill gaps and support NPI, process changes, automation, and digital transformation.
- Monitor competency levels, facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs, and drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety.
Requirements
- Diploma in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, education, human resources development, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, technical training, learning and development, or workforce capability development.
- Experience administering LMS platforms, generating analytical reports, and developing training curricula and competency matrices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, operational standards, workforce competency management, SOP management, document control, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, reporting tools, facilitation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management.
Nice to have
- Certification or experience in Learning and Development, instructional design, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma, Train-the-Trainer, project management, or change management.
- Experience with digital learning platforms, e-learning authoring tools, learning analytics dashboards, MES, ERP systems, or competency management platforms.
- Experience supporting Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, automation, digital transformation, or high-volume electronics manufacturing.
