Collections Specialist (Finance)

What you will do

• Contact clients before payment due dates and remind them about upcoming obligations.
• Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on missed payments through email, phone, and letters.
• Maintain accurate records of account statuses, payment arrangements, and communications.
• Collaborate with credit and finance teams to resolve payment issues and customer concerns.
• Escalate unresolved cases to management or legal departments when required.
• Prepare reports on collection activities, account statuses, and recovery efforts.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in collections, debt recovery, or a related financial services role.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field may be preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and empathetic customer-handling skills.
• Knowledge of debt collection regulations and best practices in mortgage and financing.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, deadline management, and confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
• Proficiency with collection software, MS Excel, and account-tracking tools.
