Senior Software Engineer (Android) (Kotlin/Java): Building and scaling Android app features for employee-focused fintech and benefits products with an accent on performance, security, accessibility, and release quality. Focus on leading mobile architecture, optimizing reliability on older devices, shipping staged rollouts, and mentoring engineers across teams.

What you will do

Own Android features from problem framing and design through implementation, rollout, and monitoring.
Lead mobile architecture and standards, including modularization, design systems, networking, and telemetry.
Set mobile quality targets and improve crash rates, startup performance, accessibility, and security.
Ship safely using feature flags, staged rollouts, server-driven configuration, kill switches, and rollback plans.
Monitor critical user journeys, including errors, latency, rendering performance, memory, battery, and app size.
Drive cross-platform parity and accelerate engineering through reviews, mentoring, documentation, and CI/build-time improvements.

Requirements

6+ years of experience building large-scale Android applications and shipping high-impact user features.
Expertise in Kotlin, strong Gradle skills, Jetpack Compose/XML, Java interoperability, Coroutines/Flow, and Android Profiler.
Experience with REST/Retrofit networking, Room-based offline caching, secure storage, privacy, and accessibility.
Knowledge of JUnit, Espresso, snapshot testing, CI/CD with Bitrise, staged rollouts, feature flags, and rollback processes.
Experience influencing multiple teams, establishing standards, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Product, Design, Data, and Backend.
C1 English required.

Nice to have

Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with cross-platform development.
