is a licensed freight forwarding startup combining technology and logistics to ship high-end goods, including paintings, sculptures, and other valuable or bulky merchandise for art galleries, antique dealers, auction houses, online platforms, and interior designers.
What you will do
- Coordinate UK export shipments (90%) and import shipments (10%) within budget and deadlines using airfreight, roadfreight, and courier methods.
- Prepare shipment and customs documentation, including AWBs, T1s, POAs, CBP, Security Declarations, Art Declarations, and Lacey Acts.
- Manage export customs declarations in eCustoms via CDS, including correct tariff codes and CPCs for free circulation, bond, and temporary admission.
- Support overseas customers with customs documentation and manage overseas agents, including white glove partners.
- Monitor orders and update internal systems, troubleshoot complex freight situations, and remove roadblocks.
- Collaborate with Customer Care and Warehouse teams and implement process improvements within Freight & Customs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience handling courier shipments, such as DHL or FedEx, and air cargo shipments booked with airlines.
- Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a shifting environment, prioritize tasks autonomously, and adapt to changing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete documentation accurately.
- Ability and willingness to learn new concepts and technologies.
