Engineering Team Lead (Shopify)

Location: US-based role; remote candidates accepted anywhere in the United States. Denver is a plus but not required.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus company equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead delivery across five brand storefronts using Shopify Hydrogen, Shopify Liquid, and Magento.
• Own storefront reliability and integrations for payments, feeds, analytics, marketing tools, and NetSuite ERP/OMS.
• Prioritize merchandising, marketing, and operations requests and turn them into shipped work.
• Lead the migration of multiple brands onto Shopify and consolidate them onto a single platform.
• Coach engineers, improve coding standards and practices, and contribute hands-on to the codebase.
• Design AI-assisted engineering workflows, review agent-produced work, and maintain quality standards.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on engineering background with a desire to remain involved in coding while leading a team.
• Deep experience building and operating e-commerce platforms, with Shopify Hydrogen and Liquid as primary requirements.
• Full-stack experience with APIs, third-party integrations, feeds, payments, and related commerce systems.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers, coaching team members, and improving team output.
• Strong prioritization and communication skills when working with non-technical partners.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Magento, e-commerce replatforming, or Shopify migration experience.
• Multi-brand or multi-storefront commerce experience.
• Experience with product catalog and feed systems or NetSuite integrations.
• Experience leading a distributed team.
