Senior Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services for control and management planes, access management, and backup workflows.
• Own features and backend components from implementation through production operation.
• Develop APIs and make trade-offs balancing correctness, scalability, cost, and maintainability.
• Write and review production-quality code, diagnose complex issues, and participate in on-call operations.
• Collaborate with Product, quality assurance, infrastructure, frontend, and customer-facing teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve backend reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating non-trivial production systems.
• Ability to turn loosely defined requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Go, Python, Java, or Rust; Go is preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience owning components within backend or cloud-native platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and cloud-native design patterns.
• Experience with data-intensive systems, object storage, or large-scale backend services.
• Exposure to backup, disaster recovery, or data protection systems.
